A Dress For Summer

Hi, how's it going?

I have come to realised that I actually enjoy wearing a dress during summer. I believe having a go-to dress to wear is just simple and easy. It doesn't need to be a super expensive one I reckon you get one anywhere.

I found this dress at a local surf shop whilst I was looking at bikinis. Mum and I both noticed and encourage me to try it on-completely opposite to what we were doing..

I love the v-neck line and the zip zag cross detail of the dress. It's also flowy with a zip on the side so it's give my waist shape.

I wear my dress for summer with any pairs of shoes-sneakers, sandals, thongs or heels. This dress is one of my go-tos for needing a laid back casual dress for day time

What your dress for summer?

Life Thoughts

Hi how’s it going?

I wrote in my five lessons from bloggers, I’m treating it as a hobby. The last month has been busy with my job being busy during the week I’m working one job then working the other two jobs on the weekends and having a social life has been hard.

I work as a receptionist during the week and I have been made permit casual so I have set days but have recently been working up to 4 shifts a week and still be on call. Then my other two jobs are food and beverage which means I work weekends just one day for one or both.

The thing I love about working is a routine I have if I’m working during the week I get home, exercise (if the weather nice), eat dinner, pack lunch, lay out clothes for tomorrow, shower and bed. I’m up at 6am most mornings, so I need to be in bed before or at ten the latest.

I went through a phase of watching my favourite new show instinct! It’s really good but now survivor Australia is back so I’m been needing to catch up but haven't got around to it. I'm a procrastinator which I find annoying.

It doesn’t leave me much time to things I want to do as in doing work on my blog or listening to music.

I’m lucky that my weekend jobs I can be flexible, which I did I took a couple of off and spent time with friends and family which I needed. There are times were I will have two days off if I’m lucky.

I’m not complaining about my three jobs I’m very grateful and lucky as I went from zero to three jobs. I’m writing this to say that life will always get in the way of things I want to do but I’m managing it pretty well.

What’s been happening with you? I thought this quote will sum it up nicely x

Sydney Whirlwind Trip

Hey, how's it going?

If you didn't see on my Instagram stories a couple of weeks ago or seen my picture of eating a cronut in Surry Hills. its because I went to Sydney for a girls trip a few weeks ago now and I loved it!

It was a lot of fun and I'm dying to go to back there again. We went for only five days and walked everywhere, I swear I felt I outtalked myself and couldn't walk again.

The weather was on and off but it was our friend when we went to Bondi for the day and nearly got blown over by the wind.

We visited the harbour bridge and opera house at night time which was fun, but we wanted to come back in the day but weather stopped us.

My girlfriend and I had a fan girl moment when we saw the bridge and opera house!

The Wild Rover bar in Surry Hills was a hidden bar that was close to our hotel and we spent a few hours there on Saturday night and had a couple of cocktails! You got to on a girls trip.

The food and drink in Sydney was so good! The portion size of a meal was decent especially for breakfast oh man I was full!

Traveling is about exploring and walking around my friend said and I definitely agree. I loved walking around Sydney and exploring the neighbourhoods.

This deftly means a trip back to Sydney hopefully next year :)

Have you been to Sydney?

3 Tips For A Busy Life

Hey, how's it going?

We are all busy, one way or another. This year for me I have been working and managing three jobs. It's not a shock because I have always been multi-tasking work, school and volunteering.

The idea for this post came to me on the way to work on a Saturday morning and wrote it after the work on the train. The tips I have used to manage being busy:

Get a diary:
It’s one simple and useful thing I have and use to write upcoming work shifts, events, appointments etc. I have my diary open on my dressing table and look out it on Sunday to see what’s on during the week.
I have also been trying more to use the calendar app on my phone

Plan lunches & outfits:
I lay my uniform out the night before on my desk- pants, top, jumper even the bra. It work’s wonders because I’m saving time and I wake up at 6.10am for one job.

I believe when I plan and laying out your outfit the night before I go to bed it makes my morning personally easy instead of having to go through my wardrobe at 6.45 in the morning to find my uniform.

When it comes to lunches same deal, I find and cook a recipe for example a stew and even it out into containers. If I don’t have time or forget I make a sandwich or put leftovers together.

Practice doing it once and see how you go!

Stay hydrated:
I’m constantly drinking water especially when I’m busy at work. I carry a water bottle with me all the time. It’s important for me to stay hydrated I can’t go without water for like half an hour as or I start to feel stressed.

I don’t drink soft or energy drinks. I find if I’m hydrated I’m more calm and can handle busy days.

I also feel it’s important to take a deep breath every once in when your busy to calm yourself and remember the busy times will past.

What are your tips for a busy life?

August Favourites

Hi how’s it going?

How did we get to August, oh god we way past half-way through the year as I edit this post it’s now September. During the month of August I was busy and finding time to socialise, blog, sleep. Here is what my favourites were during August:

New Boots:
Yes! I got new boots, I recently worn my go-to pair of boots to Pink’s concert and my mum made a comment about them “do you ever clean them” she said. I had somewhat been thinking about getting a new pair until I walked into Witner shoe shop. I tried them on, left and went back for them.  One job paycheck later they now stand next to my shoe rack and I love them.

Amazinger face by Zoe Foster Blake:
I recently read the Amazinger face by Zoe Foster Blake, who is an author, beauty editor and someone you need to google. Her book is everything about beauty and was such a good read I learnt helpful and valuable tip beauty wise. The best tip I learnt was the sunscreen brand to  wear underneath make up a winning tip for me!

Instinct Tv Show:
I had recently been watching Instinct tv show on channel 10 on Wednesday night but it got taken over by the bachelor and survivor. It’s an Alan cummings lead criminal, mystery and comedy drama about a genius  college professor joining the NYPD . Its been a long time since I haven’t watched a tv show from the start. I just now need to catch up on episodes.

Sydney Trip:
I cannot wait for next month because I’m going to Sydney! I’m so excited we have booked the dates, flights and accommodation we are go to go! I have been researching restaurants, cafes, shopping the lot for this trip!

What are your August favourite's? x

Treasures In The Op Shops

Hi, how’s it going?

A few weeks well now months ago I was in an st Vinnie store in Mt hawthorn after lunch with my mum and aunty having a browse.

I scanned through the ranks of clothes and came across this navy blue long sleeve wool dress that was in my size, down from $20 to $10 and queue the drumroll...From ASOS!

I was honestly shocked to see it was from the online store as I kept checking the tag a few times. It's a good dress for winter that I could and have worn with my white converse and jacket.

Dress Pic

I have had a few conversation's between my friends and other people about what they find at the op shops. The other things we found are:

Oversized jackets:
I have a couple of these one of them is denim thanks to my sister, the oversized jackets are great just to throw over anything. I found a big red puffy jacket at a op shop in Margaret river last year now  I have to find the time to wear it.

Dresses:
Believe me when I say this, is that I saw an just jeans maxi dress at a Salvation Army store. It looked brand new and never been worn. I haven't look at the dresses rack as much at the op store.

Outfits for work/life:
I was having a conversation with a couple of ladies a few weeks ago and we were talking about op shops. One of the ladies said her entire work outfit she was wearing which was a poker dot top and black pants were all from the op shop. Bargain!

It’s still surprises me that I find clothes from David Lawrence, Just Jeans, ASOS in the op shop that are still in good quality or probably haven't been worn (the tag still on). The positive thing is that they are donating clothes to charity and those clothes will be worn again by someone else.

What treasures have you found at the op shop?

5 Lessons I'm Learning From Bloggers

Hi how’s it going?

I enjoy blogging as a hobbie and after reading countless articles of niche, motivation, growth etc I have decided to take my own time and try not to be hard on myself with not uploading a post or photo.

When I first discovered blogs the first ones were Uk bloggers Dizzy brunette and From Roses. I eventually found more blogs from around the world and my home town Perth through social media and youtube.

These blogs include More Than Adored, Inspiring wit, Shedoes, Lily Pebbles, The Anna Edit and A Girl Obsessed just to name a few.

I have long list in Bloglovin that I try to conquer and read when I have time. These are the lessons I have been learning so far are:

1.    Growth and Time:
Every blogger you see that has been successful have all started by writing a blog. They   started out as an hobbie or school project. Their content on their blog became bolder, brighter and beautiful through their time of working hard and growing their skills.

2.    Quality Over Quantity:
The quality over quantity quote for producing content is a lesson I have read time and time again from a few blogging tips post I have read. I myself believe that it's better to have a good written, edited and photo quality post.

3.    Supporting and Helping Other Bloggers:
When I first started joining twitter, Instagram etc. I noticed blogging group chats from around the world giving advice, sharing opinions, commenting and congratulating each other on their achievements. I found it less intimating when I started engaging with others.

I have found it very empowering that bloggers will go out of there way to do this and believe in passing on support.

4.    Relatable content:
The one thing I see in other bloggers content is that they write a variety of real and relatable topics and issues. I believe being relatable is a key to their success and growing an audience. Being relatable is important to myself when it comes to blogging and writing.

5.    Always learning and involving:
No blogger is perfect. If people knew the time it takes to create one blog post I think their will be more understanding. This is always going to be something new to learn  that ranges from marketing, photography, organisation the list goes on...it's fantastic and yet so much information as well.

There's are the five lessons I'm learning so far from bloggers! What are you learning?

These are my May favourites:

Changing face masks:
I mention in a previous post that I love doing a face mask on Sunday. I was using loreal clay mask and realised it wasn't working for my skin, so I decided to change it. I went to Priceline and picked up a rose hip clay mask.  It's only early weeks so I'll how it goes.

New Blush:

I recently bought a new product called true match L'oreal blush from priceline because it look pretty and the colour was gorgeous! It’s a blush, highlighter pack with a mirror and brush. I haven’t worn blush in a long time and looking forward to putting it on.

Corn chips addiction:
It’s official! My new favourite indulgence is corn chips with hummus. I blame my addiction it  on my older sister for bringing them into out house (haha). I enjoy choosing a selection from either mission round, stripe or organic corn chips are so good but my favourite are these organice corn chips. I love when their salty oh so good and naughty!

5 seconds of Summer &  James Arthur:
I have recently been listening to 5 Seconds of Summer and James Arthur have been my go-to. I love listening to their new songs young blood and want you back especially young blood has become one of my favourites this year so goo!  The James Arthur album I have had playing a lot in my car.

Getting back into the gym:

I have been slowly getting back into gym because I have been sick with the flu in the start of may. It’s hard getting back into excerise when you have been sick. I feel that you need to rest your body and start moving you feel better.

What are your May favourites?
