What I'm Doing in 2021

 Hi, how’s it going?

January always goes quickly. I have been thinking about what I want to do this year. After last year I had zero motivation to do anything. This year I feel different and motivated. I feel it’s now or never with my blog.

Focus on blogging:
Last year I was thinking I could have done more blogging as there wasn’t much going on yet I didn’t. I came to the realisation that I need to do it now or let it go. I updated my blog template with pipdig recently and will be organising a content calendar. I have to be more organised because I believe not being organised is my problem.

Pilates & Walking:

I'm so un-flexible. I can’t sit cross legged for more than five minutes.I was going to reformer pilates at the start of last year and stopped when it was shut down. I want to do that once a week along with walking just to mixed it up break from my weight training and gym classes.

Saving Money:

Last year I bought many clothes that I rarely got to wear because my social life was rare. I decided I need to stop buying clothes for a period of time to save money. I have many and my closet is just growing out. I feel we all had the temptation of purchasing clothes to support the economy.

What are you doing this year?

August Favourites

Hi how’s it going?

How did we get to August, oh god we way past half-way through the year as I edit this post it’s now September. During the month of August I was busy and finding time to socialise, blog, sleep. Here is what my favourites were during August:

New Boots:
Yes! I got new boots, I recently worn my go-to pair of boots to Pink’s concert and my mum made a comment about them “do you ever clean them” she said. I had somewhat been thinking about getting a new pair until I walked into Witner shoe shop. I tried them on, left and went back for them.  One job paycheck later they now stand next to my shoe rack and I love them.

Amazinger face by Zoe Foster Blake:
I recently read the Amazinger face by Zoe Foster Blake, who is an author, beauty editor and someone you need to google. Her book is everything about beauty and was such a good read I learnt helpful and valuable tip beauty wise. The best tip I learnt was the sunscreen brand to  wear underneath make up a winning tip for me!

Instinct Tv Show:
I had recently been watching Instinct tv show on channel 10 on Wednesday night but it got taken over by the bachelor and survivor. It’s an Alan cummings lead criminal, mystery and comedy drama about a genius  college professor joining the NYPD . Its been a long time since I haven’t watched a tv show from the start. I just now need to catch up on episodes.

Sydney Trip:
I cannot wait for next month because I’m going to Sydney! I’m so excited we have booked the dates, flights and accommodation we are go to go! I have been researching restaurants, cafes, shopping the lot for this trip!

What are your August favourite's? x

10 Ways To Save Money

Hi, how it's going?

I’m going to be honest with you I spend majority of my money on clothes and I have come to realise I have impulse spending habit.

When I didn’t have a job I would be out and buying new clothes for no reason. I feel it would of been to make me feel better (it's what my mum said). It’s a habit I need to break.

It wasn't until after the boxing day sales I wrote down the everything I bought and the total was $$$.

That was my wake up call and I decided I'm going to save more money this year. I learnt from myself, friends and family on ways they save money.

Here are some ways/tips I use to save:
  1. Collect 50c coins.
  2. Make a budget using Microsoft excel.
  3. Write down  what you spend in a week.
  4. Write a list of your needs and wants. Example needs will be  groceries, petrol, rent, etc. Wants are clothes, tickets, make up etc.
  5. Buy clothes during sales.
  6. Limited the amount of takeaway coffees and meals you buy.
  7. Get a second job- babysitting, café work etc.
  8. Pre plan and estimate how much you will spend on your night out.
  9. Save every second paycheck you receive.
  10. Find shops that sell your skincare and other beauty products at a lower price.
I think it's also important to not feel bad if you go through a week of spending money. Life happens when it's a birthday or special occasion it's obvious you will spend money.

What are your ways or tips in saving money?

My February Favourites

Hi how’s it going?

We are almost at the end of February holy moly. I have had an busy month with work and social life. I’m ready to slow down and chill for abit. I need to catch up on Netflix I’m behind on Riverdale and the clips on YouTube are tempting to watch. Anyway here’s my favourites:

I, Tonya, Molly’s Game & Fifty Shades Freed:
I have seen a few good movies this month-yes even Fifty Shades Freed. I went to see I, Tonya and Molly’s Game which are female lead driven and based on true stories. The films both show their childhoods and how it leads to the main plot.

Fifty shades freed yes everyone has opinions about this films. I actually enjoyed watching this film as it shown the Anastasia and Christin more of a married couple and less thinking about sex 24/7. It’s as well is more of a thriller.

Tea Tree Oil:
I read an article of Meghan Markle beauty products  (who hasn’t?) and read that she uses tea tree oil for pimples. I went to chemist warehouse and bought one. I had to apply the oil three times a day with a cotton bud and began to notice my breakouts slowly going away. I forgot a couple times to do it three times but their was no difference.

Heartbreaker Miss Shop Shirt:
I recently fell back into one of my bad habits and spent money on clothes that I don’t need and bought a new t-shirt. I fully blame the clearance sale section at Myer. I told myself “no Jordyn no” and I couldn’t resistant.
I never thought I would a v-cut. shirt but I always been a sucker for the colour grey and worn the shirt on a night out with black skirt and boots.

Bobbi-Brown BB Cream:
I have been looking and trying out two different bb creams from Mecca since last year because I wanted a bb cream with sunscreen. I got two samples and tried both of the Bobbi Brown and Mecca Cosmetica bb creams.
I found the Bobbi Brown cream to be the one I liked because it felt nice and light on my face and the coverage was for me, personally good.
Regular Coffee Company & Swell Café:
I have been finding new cafes recently and found two new cafes near where I live. The Regular Coffee Company has recently opened and I went with mum.
Their coffee is good and strong and if you order a large coffee, they serve in these massive  wacky shaped white mugs that have a large handle. We had fun tackling and drinking from the mug.
Swell café in Mullaloo  I went to for a friend’s birthday brunch. I had an huevos rancheros dish and extra shot ice latte. The food and coffee was lovely and we had a sick view of Mullaloo beach as it was a sunny day.

Friday Food File: Easy Tips To Start Cooking

Hi, how it's going?

Starting or learning to cook can be daunting but it doesn't have to be. I thought I would share some tips on how to get into cooking:

Start small:
Find a meal that is simple and easy to make, with small amount of ingredients. They could be:
  • Scramble eggs
  • Toasted sandwiches
  • Homemade pizzas.
These meals are not only simple but they have a variety of skills you learn straight away. The scramble eggs for example, involve cracking eggs, whisking, measuring and stirring. See? When you make a easy meal you learn new skills straight away!

    Get a partner:
Cooking with someone  that you know can cook is ideal whilst starting out is fun and helpful! Getting together with someone like a friend, sibling or parents ( for me it's my mum) would make it fun and create memories along the way.

    Find a recipe:
When it comes to researching and finding one recipe to cook, firstly ask yourself  this question: "What you would like to cook?

The sky is the limit now with finding recipes. There are many options in finding a single recipe either online or printed. Here a quick list of where you can find recipes:
    • Cookbooks
    • Food websites and blogs
    • YouTube videos
    • Family and friends recipes.
    • Social Media: Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter

    Have Fun:
The most important thing to remember when learning to start cooking is to have fun! If you burn food, forget to add a ingredient or it doesn't taste good its not the end of the world because its all part of learning! Don't pressure or be hard on yourself- which I have done a few times . It's ok to do it all over again!

      Two Monthly Favourites Mash up:

      Hi how’s it going?

It’s March already?? This is my first monthly favourites post and I wanted to do a mash up over the last two months. Here is what have been my favourites in food, movies, music and make up over the last two months:
      Food:
I have recently been finding new recipes that are vegetarian based meals. We needed to change up our weekly dinner menu because we are stuck with what’s for dinner. I have cooked a vegetarian chili and chickpea curry.
      TV/Movies:
On a Sunday after a night out with a small hangover I learnt the true definition of Netflix and Chill. I have binge watched:
      • Designated Survivor.
      • Riverdale.
      Music:
I have been listening to a few new songs on repeat which includes Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, Kyo, Dua Lipa  and Machine Gun Kelly. I'm looking forward to hearing Ed Sheeran new album!
      Make up:
I have been recently using a couple of new make up products as well as using a lipstick my sister gave me:

      Monthly Favourites!

      • Nude by Nature Champagne Gold Highlighter
      • L'Oréal Pure Clay Mask
      • MAC Dare You Lipstick with matching lip liner.
I have enjoyed wearing new products and changing my make up routine abit. I want to do more exploring but not dramatic though but we will see.

      Summer Loving Days

      Hi, how's it going?

Its finally summer! Summer is my favourite season of the year because  it's not only my birthday but I feel we can do plenty of fun things with friends and family. Here's what I love about Summer:

      Swimming in the ocean:
I love swimming, ever since I was little. When it's a hot day, I enjoy heading to the beach and going for a dip. I love seeing the water a gorgeous blue colour and calm.

      Swimming in the ocean

      Coastal walks:
What I like to do with my mum or sister, is get up early and go for a walk along the coast. If it's going to be a hot day, I enjoy going for a dip after. It's nice to see the beaches in the morning as well.

      Ice Coffee/Latte:
The thing I drink a lot in the summer is either a ice coffee or latte. When it's hot and I'm at café (depending where I am), I ask for a ice latte or ice coffee with ice cream. It depends what I feel like having.

      Ice Coffee

      Ice Cream:
Yes, ice cream is the best sweet treat to have in the summer. There are many ice cream places around the beach so it isn't had to get one. I recently discovered ben and jerry's and connoisseur ice cream. Oh my god they are delicious- my favourite are the cookies and cream flavours!

      Barbecues:
I love a barbecue, either at home or next to the beach. The parks next to the beach are great to have because you can go for a swim late afternoon, cook the bbq and relax. It's a joy, after a hot day.

What do you love about summer?

      Love Jordyn x.
