The Printed Shirt

Hi, how’s it going?

I have always been drawn to printed t-shirts. I prefer slightly larger shirts that I can tuck in to my shorts or do a French tuck. If you don’t know what a French tuck watch season 1 Queer Eye Tan France (love him).

I believe a printed t-shirt, tops or jumper can give an outfit a more of an edge with a simple element.  The basic thing to do is keep everything else your wearing simple.

It means you don’t need to buy an over the top puffy sleeve shirt if those aren’t your thing but you have a printed top in your wardrobe.

I bought this white floral design shirt from MinkPink and I think it was one of my favourite purchases. I love the lightweight fit feel so it’s perfect to wear with jeans or skirt.

What do you think of printed tops?

How To Start Wearing Make Up

Hey how’s it going?

As someone who has never worn a lot make-up but I have started to wear more for my liking. I have always loved the natural make up look, a bold lip and just no make-up. If you want to start wearing make-up here’s some advice I have thought of:

Start Small:
Always start by wearing a product that you enjoy or are eagered to try mascara, lipstick, foundation etc and start there. When I started wearing make up at 16 I wore lip gloss for school photo day and thought I was a rebel.

Experiment Time:
This is where the fun begin so try different beauty looks and products , but don’t worry if you end up looking like a ghost or animal of some kind we have all been there. I believe experimenting is the way to find what you love or not.

When I was 15 I went through a phase of wearing black eyeliner. I was actually good at putting on then I look at it again and saw I look like a ghost so see you later eyeliner.

Research & Ask:
When it comes to beauty and make up there is so much information out there. I have learnt over the years that knowledge is power and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask.

I’m quite shy sometime’s so asking at counters for me can be daunting yet you don’t know until you ask. The things I have done you should to:
Go to your local drugstores and make up counters
Ask questions and have a chat.
Get your make up professional done
Read beauty books my favourite is Amazinger Face by Zoe foster Blake.

When I gain confidence to ask about make up I started going to Priceline or Mecca to ask more in-depth questions. These stores give great beauty service depending what you searching, need or want. I suggest for you to do the same for yourself.

The constant information about make-up is always changing but what you need to remember it’s to have fun and find what’s best for you!

What did you do when you started to wear makeup?

4 Things You Do In Canada

Hi, how it going?

This month will be 3 month’s since I have been back from Canada. I went to Vancouver to visit my sister and her fiancé for 4 weeks in July and August. It was awesome! The food, people, weather (we had a couple of rainy days) was amazing. It had the same chilled laidback vibe as Perth so it felt like home at times but my biggest concern was finding good coffee to drink.

This was the most active holiday I have done as we spent most day's outside spending time in the sun and did these four activites in Canada:

Bike riding:
It feels like every overseas holiday I go on I do more bike riding than I do back home. We bike ride around Stanley Park twice during our stay by going around the park and on another day we went further into the woods.

Hiking:
Hiking is a no-brainer definite activity in Canada that everyone does and it’s a must. We did a 13 kilometre hike in which we got up at 6am, drove to the carpark base, ate breakfast and hike all the way to the top of the hill. We did more hikes after that, but that was our biggest one.

Our 13km Hike.
Road trip:
We did a 10 day camping trip around British Columbia and it was so beautiful. We drove 2-3 hours between each town which allowed us to stop and look at the beautiful scenery and mountains which still had snow on them from winter.

Explore The Neighbourhood’s:
I would describe Vancouver as a multicultural and vibrate place that no neighbourhood is the same. In between our camp trip, bike riding and day trips we spent a lot of time exploring the different neighbourhood's. The places we explored were Gastown, Main street, Downton, Davie street, Granville island.

I see now why us Aussies move to Canada. If you wanna go, get yourself there. It’s definitely a place that will be on my list to go back to.

Have you been to Canada and if so what did you do?

Recent Life Update

Hi, how’s it going?

It’s been awhile since my last blog post but I’m taking it as it’s a usual bad habit of mine. I can’t believe we are in September.  Holy moly. The last couple of months have been up and down here’s what’s been happening.

Iron Infusion:
Yes. I had to get an iron infusion for the first time because my iron levels were at very low for the first time. I was nervous on the day because I had never had an infusion before and I went by myself on the day.

I wasn’t allowed go to the gym for two days. They give you a sheet of symptoms of what to expect after the infusion. I wasn’t bad until a few days after I had some cramps and lovely flu

Two Whirlwind Adelaide Trip:
I have headed to Adelaide twice this year in the space of three month’s for a family funeral ‘s. The first before Easter and the second one a couple weeks ago. They were both short trips so we meet up with family, attended the funeral and headed back home.

Chilled Easter Weekend:
When we got home from Adelaide we didn’t have any Easter plans so we just had a chilled on.  I had gotten a cold during the trip and spent the weekend basically in bed. I manage to get out of the house on Sunday and went to a café down the road.

Girls High Tea:
My workmate organised a high tea at the Duxton hotel with workmates and friends was so much fun. We got the sparkling package which meant sparkling champagne with our high tea and we ordered cocktails. It was nice to have girl time and we decided to do something once a month.

What been happening with you?

Why I Love Polaroids.

Hi, how's it going

I love polaroids! I started taking them a few years ago after being inspired by Taylor Swift's 1989  album artwork with the polaroid's.

When I first got my camera I would take polaroids before night's out with my friends and blu track them on my wardrobe door and created a polaroid photo wall on my wardrobe door. My reasons why I love them are:

Take it Everywhere:
I have a cute yellow polaroid travel bag I bought so I can take my camera with me. I try to take it everywhere with me for trips and gathering's, during one Christmas I took many polaroids.

A New Hobbie:
Learning to use a polaroid camera has become a new hobbie of mine which I enjoy. I have learnt to take selfies and figure out the light and dark settings for the photos.

One Single Photo:
When you take a polaroid you have to quickly shake it and hide it in a dark place (handbag or back pocket is fine) and wait for the picture to develop. It's makes one single copy and if you lose it, it's gone.

Perfect gift idea:
I love the size and the white border of a polaroid picture because you can put them in your purse or on the back of your phone. Whenever I take photos of my younger cousins or friends I let them keep it.

The rareness of polaroids is what I love most because you can't take many photos without wasting film and the fact you only have one photo means it's special not to lose.

Do you have a polaroid camera? I would love to know!

Jumpsuit For Summer

Hi how’s it going?

One of the things I look forward to each year during summer is wearing a jumpsuit.

I find them just easy and flexible to wear during the summer. I wear one over my bathers after a beach day or heading out for the day.

This Dotti jumpsuit I have had for a few years and its still my go-to for days or nights out. I love the cross section at the back and I wear it with a denim jacket and sandals. I have a couple more in my wardrobe.

I love jumpsuits because they are affordable, easy to wear and the variety to chose from.

I have written a list of places I go to to find jumpsuits depending on the occasion:

Casual/ Day to Day:
The shops I go to for casual jumpsuits are
Dotti
Cotton On
Department stores- Kmart, Target & Big W.
Sports girl
Universal store
H&M

Formal/ Evening:
Online stores- iconic au, princess polly
Sportsgirl
Local boutiques
Myer &a David Jones.
Asos

Do you wear a jumpsuit and how do you wear them?

Clothes I Saw This Summer

Hi, how’s it going!

I felt, saw and said goodbye to our summer weather in Perth. I was happy to have long summer days and beach swims. I’m a true lover of summer and the clothes we can wear.

During the summer I noticed a few of the trends during the summer, I had also personally been wearing. The three clothes I had noticed the most were these:

Denim dresses:
I was watching an interview of Kirsten Cavallari wearing a denim dress. I thought that will be cool to wear for summer for all denim lovers including myself. I went into Myer and bought a miss shop denim dress with a zip front detail.

Short Blouse Sleeve top:
I was beginning to see these kind of tops in the shops and online. I recently bought a nude blouse top from Topshop when I was in Sydney.

I love the front v-shape style and how light it feels when I'm wearing it. I wear the top with shorts and jeans.

Collared Stripe Long Sleeve Top:
I noticed the collared striped long sleeve tops being worn in winter and continued into summer. These  tops are flexible for all seasons because you can wear them anywhere.

During summer you can wear them after a swim at the beach or day/night out with friends.

What clothes did you see during summer?

3 Cafes I Ate in Sydney

hi how's it going?

Before I went to Sydney last year, I spent months looking up cafes and restaurants to go to for every meal. I put in the names, location, cuisine of the places in a excel spreadsheet.

I loved the food in Sydney and here are a few things I learnt:
  • You get your money worth in food.
  • It comes with not one but two slices of bread with breakfast.
  • Portion sizes is pretty decent.
These are the three cafes we went to that were in Surry Hills and Bondi:

Joe's Black Cafe:
We went to this cafe that was up the street from our hotel on a early rainy Sunday morning. I had vegetable omelette with feta that came with two big pieces of toast which you don't get in Perth. I rarely eat omelettes but this was really filling.

Beach Burrito Bondi:
When I found this place online I told my friend we had to go there to when we head to Bondi. We went there on a Saturday and we ate burritos with frozen margaritas. The burritos came with corn chips and guacamole.

The Basket Brothers:
This cafe was a surprise place we loved during our trip and visited twice. The two times we went there was for lunch and dinner. We had steak sandwich and omelette for lunch and for breakfast we both had vegetarian and meat big breakfast as our last meal in Sydney.

What cafes did or have you ate in Sydney?

The Lazy Blue Pants You Need

Hi, how's it going?

As I have mention in a previous blog post about personal style I always want to be comfortable.

A couple of years ago I bought this pair of blue pants from Dotti that ended up being a great buy for myself. I wasn’t looking for any pants at the time but I tried them on and bought them straight away.
These pants are easy to wear and have a loose band so you can wear them either high or low waist. I wear them with a cardigan, t-shirt or crop top. My sister even wanted a pair and bought another for her birthday.

What lazy pants do you have? I would love to know!

Perth Hangs: Dejaxo Cafe

Hi how’s it going?

As someone that loves to go out and try new cafes for coffee, breakfast or lunch. I have decided to create a blog series called Perth Hangs! I want to share some of my favourite places around Perth and also new places I discover as well.

My first café in the Perth Hangs series is my regular place Dejaxo café in Carine.  I have shown a couple of pictures of this café on my Instagram.

I visit this café mostly on the weekends to grab a coffee or food before heading off to work. I’m always thinking when I walk in “Guess who back”! They have an all-day food and drinks menu, fridge filled with baked goods, sandwiches etc and weekly specials menu that looks good every time I read it.

The baked goods section of the display cabinet when you walk up to the counter will make you stop and drool. Their is such as variety of them including raw treats and brownies. I would happily say that one oreo brownie has ended up in my stomach.

I always have the same drink or food order when I visit this cafe. I recently tried one of their chili con card toasted sandwiches which yummy that came with corn chips and jalapeños.

What I Order
Food:
Chocolate or ham and cheese crossiant
Big breakfast.

Drinks:
Ice latte or long macchiato topped up.

What to try:
Mushrooms on toast with poached egg, and haloumni.
Chicken burger
Pastries next to the till.
Items on the specials menu (go for it)

Hope you check it out x

Three Quarter Way

Hi, how's it going?

Happy New Year! I felt like 2018 was a long year- 365 days that happens every year- words from my mum.

These pants are my mostly worn pants in my wardrobe. I bought these a few years ago when I needed clothes for school. My mum has been wearing these style of pants for years so it runs in the family!

I wear these pants a lot and I go for this pair when the weather can't make up it's mind. I wear this with anything- shirt, jumper, singlet etc.

Do you have a pair of three quarter pants?
