The Year of 2019

Hi, how's it going?

2019 I felt started off good with work and social life. I find the best plans are the ones that are not planned and I didn’t have plans to travel overseas until my sister invited me to Canada.

The next thing you know I was booking flights to Vancouver to see my sister at the travel agent with my other sister.

Work was going well until I was told that I had to look for a full-time job. My first thought was fuck and here we go again because I hate looking for jobs. I decided to apply for Christmas casual job for extra money. Any way I move onto the positive.

My workmate invited me to a high tea and it started our monthly girl’s day. It’s a day once a month where we go out for a day and spent just girl time. We each take turns planning what we do and that could be brunch, high tea etc. Our days have gone into the night.

My Canada trip came around and I went to Vancouver for the first time visit my sister and her fiancé. I loved everything about the place food, fashion and wildlife. It was summertime and we spent majority of the trip hiking, biking, walking and camping. I would say it was the most active holiday I have ever had.

My friendships with my friends were good but with my closet friend it was the opposite. I believe everything was good until I realized my close friend and I had gown apart. Our Melbourne trip was the reality check I needed and saw the sad truth. We have both agreed that we had grown apart.

Health and fitness wise I decided to stop playing netball because I honestly didn’t enjoy it anymore. I started the year with summer hit class at my gym that I enjoy and we started doing new exercises to mixed it up which I love doing. I continued with my weight training sessions and Saturday gym class.

I would say 2019 was  a year of learning and realising who my friends were. It made me realized that I need to work on a couple of things in the new year.

How was your 2019? Let me know!

4 Things You Do In Canada

Hi, how it going?

This month will be 3 month’s since I have been back from Canada. I went to Vancouver to visit my sister and her fiancé for 4 weeks in July and August. It was awesome! The food, people, weather (we had a couple of rainy days) was amazing. It had the same chilled laidback vibe as Perth so it felt like home at times but my biggest concern was finding good coffee to drink.

This was the most active holiday I have done as we spent most day's outside spending time in the sun and did these four activites in Canada:

Bike riding:
It feels like every overseas holiday I go on I do more bike riding than I do back home. We bike ride around Stanley Park twice during our stay by going around the park and on another day we went further into the woods.

Hiking:
Hiking is a no-brainer definite activity in Canada that everyone does and it’s a must. We did a 13 kilometre hike in which we got up at 6am, drove to the carpark base, ate breakfast and hike all the way to the top of the hill. We did more hikes after that, but that was our biggest one.

Our 13km Hike.
Road trip:
We did a 10 day camping trip around British Columbia and it was so beautiful. We drove 2-3 hours between each town which allowed us to stop and look at the beautiful scenery and mountains which still had snow on them from winter.

Explore The Neighbourhood’s:
I would describe Vancouver as a multicultural and vibrate place that no neighbourhood is the same. In between our camp trip, bike riding and day trips we spent a lot of time exploring the different neighbourhood's. The places we explored were Gastown, Main street, Downton, Davie street, Granville island.

I see now why us Aussies move to Canada. If you wanna go, get yourself there. It’s definitely a place that will be on my list to go back to.

Have you been to Canada and if so what did you do?

Why I Love Polaroids.

Hi, how's it going

I love polaroids! I started taking them a few years ago after being inspired by Taylor Swift's 1989  album artwork with the polaroid's.

When I first got my camera I would take polaroids before night's out with my friends and blu track them on my wardrobe door and created a polaroid photo wall on my wardrobe door. My reasons why I love them are:

Take it Everywhere:
I have a cute yellow polaroid travel bag I bought so I can take my camera with me. I try to take it everywhere with me for trips and gathering's, during one Christmas I took many polaroids.

A New Hobbie:
Learning to use a polaroid camera has become a new hobbie of mine which I enjoy. I have learnt to take selfies and figure out the light and dark settings for the photos.

One Single Photo:
When you take a polaroid you have to quickly shake it and hide it in a dark place (handbag or back pocket is fine) and wait for the picture to develop. It's makes one single copy and if you lose it, it's gone.

Perfect gift idea:
I love the size and the white border of a polaroid picture because you can put them in your purse or on the back of your phone. Whenever I take photos of my younger cousins or friends I let them keep it.

The rareness of polaroids is what I love most because you can't take many photos without wasting film and the fact you only have one photo means it's special not to lose.

Do you have a polaroid camera? I would love to know!

Perth Hangs: Dejaxo Cafe

Hi how’s it going?

As someone that loves to go out and try new cafes for coffee, breakfast or lunch. I have decided to create a blog series called Perth Hangs! I want to share some of my favourite places around Perth and also new places I discover as well.

My first café in the Perth Hangs series is my regular place Dejaxo café in Carine.  I have shown a couple of pictures of this café on my Instagram.

I visit this café mostly on the weekends to grab a coffee or food before heading off to work. I’m always thinking when I walk in “Guess who back”! They have an all-day food and drinks menu, fridge filled with baked goods, sandwiches etc and weekly specials menu that looks good every time I read it.

The baked goods section of the display cabinet when you walk up to the counter will make you stop and drool. Their is such as variety of them including raw treats and brownies. I would happily say that one oreo brownie has ended up in my stomach.

I always have the same drink or food order when I visit this cafe. I recently tried one of their chili con card toasted sandwiches which yummy that came with corn chips and jalapeños.

What I Order
Food:
Chocolate or ham and cheese crossiant
Big breakfast.

Drinks:
Ice latte or long macchiato topped up.

What to try:
Mushrooms on toast with poached egg, and haloumni.
Chicken burger
Pastries next to the till.
Items on the specials menu (go for it)

Hope you check it out x

My Love of Food:

Hi, how's it going?

I love food! My friends and family will tell you that I'm always eating all the time...not all the time.

I was looking at a home video of myself at a school assembley and I read my list of my party food menu- chips, chocolate, party pies, sausage rolls that was to name a few.

Instead of me writing about my love I'm going to show you in pictures. Enjoy! I apologise in advance for drooling that may happen...

Mexican Bowl from Freshii.
Beef Paella-Local fair.
Nachos-Epco Centre-Florida.
3 Scoop Ice Cream sundaee-Florida
Pizza-Italy.

Why do you love food? Let me know x
