The Face Mask for Your Sunday

If you follow me on Instagram you would see on Sunday’s I put on a face mask. I love putting on a face mask on a Sunday night as a way to relax and  for my own self-care. I love having that clean, fresh and hydrate feel. I have been using three different types face masks. It depends on how much time/feel and mood.

Sheet Mask:                                                                                                                                                            I love nothing more than having an evening of washing my hair and putting my sheet mask on.I love the cooling effect on my face. My favourite masks I use are the Garnier and Go-to face mask.

Overnight:                                                                                                                                                            An overnight sleep mask is a great way to multi task with sleep and self- care. I find when I have zero time for a mask I put one on before bed after my skincare. The Origins-drink Up overnight face mask is my first overnight mask I used.

10-20 minutes Mask:

We don’t always have time to do a long face mask. I don’t always have time on a Sunday and I just have to go with it. I used the Drink-Up 10 minute before shower and love it for a quick refresher. If I want a longer face mask I go for the Mecca cosmetica face mask with its own brush.

What is your favourite face mask?

A Make Up Lesson

Hi how’s it going?
I will call myself a rookie with make-up. I asked for a foundation for my birthday last year my twin sister gave me a make-up lesson voucher at Mecca.
I thought it was a great gift and I waited a few months when I had a night out with my friends to use it because I didn’t want to waste an hour or two of wearing make up and taking it off.

When I arrived for my lesson I was seated in the make-up chair with sparkling water and waited for the make-up artist to arrive.
She was lovely and we chatted about what I would like to learn.  I said three things- natural eyeshadow, lip application and finding a proper foundation.
She went through the make-up look step by step that began with skincare, make up and setting spray. She showed me how to apply the make up on one side of my face and then I would do the other side.

She wrote down every product she used in a pamphlet for me to take home in their iconic pink bag with my make-up goodies.
If you haven’t been to Mecca before after your appointment you receive the money you spent back on the make-up products you can pick that were used. I took home a Mac setting spray, Mecca Max concealer, Nars sheer glow foundation and velvet red lipstick.

After my make-up lesson I had become more excited and intrigued to experimented with make up. I realised that if you not sure it's actually a great idea to get a make up lesson. The plus side Mecca customer service is fantastic so don't be afraid to ask them questions or advice.

Have you done a make up lesson? I'll will love to know :)

How To Start Wearing Make Up

Hey how’s it going?

As someone who has never worn a lot make-up but I have started to wear more for my liking. I have always loved the natural make up look, a bold lip and just no make-up. If you want to start wearing make-up here’s some advice I have thought of:

Start Small:
Always start by wearing a product that you enjoy or are eagered to try mascara, lipstick, foundation etc and start there. When I started wearing make up at 16 I wore lip gloss for school photo day and thought I was a rebel.

Experiment Time:
This is where the fun begin so try different beauty looks and products , but don’t worry if you end up looking like a ghost or animal of some kind we have all been there. I believe experimenting is the way to find what you love or not.

When I was 15 I went through a phase of wearing black eyeliner. I was actually good at putting on then I look at it again and saw I look like a ghost so see you later eyeliner.

Research & Ask:
When it comes to beauty and make up there is so much information out there. I have learnt over the years that knowledge is power and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask.

I’m quite shy sometime’s so asking at counters for me can be daunting yet you don’t know until you ask. The things I have done you should to:
Go to your local drugstores and make up counters
Ask questions and have a chat.
Get your make up professional done
Read beauty books my favourite is Amazinger Face by Zoe foster Blake.

When I gain confidence to ask about make up I started going to Priceline or Mecca to ask more in-depth questions. These stores give great beauty service depending what you searching, need or want. I suggest for you to do the same for yourself.

The constant information about make-up is always changing but what you need to remember it’s to have fun and find what’s best for you!

What did you do when you started to wear makeup?

May Favourites

Hi how’s it going?

I can't believe we are in June already, may went fast quickly.  I have been busy over the last few weeks starting my new job, trying to be more organise and having the flu wasn't fun.

These are my May favourites:

Changing face masks:
I mention in a previous post that I love doing a face mask on Sunday. I was using loreal clay mask and realised it wasn't working for my skin, so I decided to change it. I went to Priceline and picked up a rose hip clay mask.  It's only early weeks so I'll how it goes.

New Blush:

I recently bought a new product called true match L'oreal blush from priceline because it look pretty and the colour was gorgeous! It’s a blush, highlighter pack with a mirror and brush. I haven’t worn blush in a long time and looking forward to putting it on.

Corn chips addiction:
It’s official! My new favourite indulgence is corn chips with hummus. I blame my addiction it  on my older sister for bringing them into out house (haha). I enjoy choosing a selection from either mission round, stripe or organic corn chips are so good but my favourite are these organice corn chips. I love when their salty oh so good and naughty!

5 seconds of Summer &  James Arthur:
I have recently been listening to 5 Seconds of Summer and James Arthur have been my go-to. I love listening to their new songs young blood and want you back especially young blood has become one of my favourites this year so goo!  The James Arthur album I have had playing a lot in my car.

Getting back into the gym:

I have been slowly getting back into gym because I have been sick with the flu in the start of may. It’s hard getting back into excerise when you have been sick. I feel that you need to rest your body and start moving you feel better.

What are your May favourites?

My February Favourites

Hi how’s it going?

We are almost at the end of February holy moly. I have had an busy month with work and social life. I’m ready to slow down and chill for abit. I need to catch up on Netflix I’m behind on Riverdale and the clips on YouTube are tempting to watch. Anyway here’s my favourites:

I, Tonya, Molly’s Game & Fifty Shades Freed:
I have seen a few good movies this month-yes even Fifty Shades Freed. I went to see I, Tonya and Molly’s Game which are female lead driven and based on true stories. The films both show their childhoods and how it leads to the main plot.

Fifty shades freed yes everyone has opinions about this films. I actually enjoyed watching this film as it shown the Anastasia and Christin more of a married couple and less thinking about sex 24/7. It’s as well is more of a thriller.

Tea Tree Oil:
I read an article of Meghan Markle beauty products  (who hasn’t?) and read that she uses tea tree oil for pimples. I went to chemist warehouse and bought one. I had to apply the oil three times a day with a cotton bud and began to notice my breakouts slowly going away. I forgot a couple times to do it three times but their was no difference.

Heartbreaker Miss Shop Shirt:
I recently fell back into one of my bad habits and spent money on clothes that I don’t need and bought a new t-shirt. I fully blame the clearance sale section at Myer. I told myself “no Jordyn no” and I couldn’t resistant.
I never thought I would a v-cut. shirt but I always been a sucker for the colour grey and worn the shirt on a night out with black skirt and boots.

Bobbi-Brown BB Cream:
I have been looking and trying out two different bb creams from Mecca since last year because I wanted a bb cream with sunscreen. I got two samples and tried both of the Bobbi Brown and Mecca Cosmetica bb creams.
I found the Bobbi Brown cream to be the one I liked because it felt nice and light on my face and the coverage was for me, personally good.
Regular Coffee Company & Swell Café:
I have been finding new cafes recently and found two new cafes near where I live. The Regular Coffee Company has recently opened and I went with mum.
Their coffee is good and strong and if you order a large coffee, they serve in these massive  wacky shaped white mugs that have a large handle. We had fun tackling and drinking from the mug.
Swell café in Mullaloo  I went to for a friend’s birthday brunch. I had an huevos rancheros dish and extra shot ice latte. The food and coffee was lovely and we had a sick view of Mullaloo beach as it was a sunny day.
