Foodie Friday: Easy vanilla cupcakes

Hi all, how's it going!

I have a new baking post for a easy simple cupcake recipe. I have had this recipe since high school and have recently made these for my baby cousin second birthday. This recipe is a throw all the ingredients into one and mix together. It's also adds in orange zest flavour (yummy).

Ingredients
120g butter
2/3 cup of caster sugar
1 1/2 cup of self raising flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 zest of a orange (optional)

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 180c.
2. In a bowl (preferably with a mixer) add in the butter, flour, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla essence.
3. Beat on a low for 1 minute. Then turn up to medium speed for 1 minute.
4.Scrap the batter off the edges to ensure all batter is mixed in.
5. Line a muffin tray with paper cases and spoon mixture into each one case.
6. Place the tray in the oven for 12-15 minutes. Let them cool for about a couple of minutes.

Then either eat them plain (like I do) or ice them to your liking. I decorate these with pinkish purple icing with sprinkles for the party.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments I would love to hear from you.

My Winter Essentials Part 1 Beauty

Hi all, how's it going?

It's winter time in Perth right now and to be honest I prefer summer over winter because I don't like being cold but I can put with up if I'm wraped up in my trackies and jumper! The downside of winter is that because my skin becomes dry on my hands and lips which ignores me alot.

Anyways I thought I would share  beauty essentials that I constantly use during the winter for my skin to get through the cold months.

1. Lip Balm:
I cannot leave the house without lip balm at all, because I get dry lips and I don't like getting dry lips at all. I recently bought Burt Bees lip balm which is nice and smoothing with the peppermint flavour it has, which is different for me but I like it a lot.

2.Moisturiser:
Moisturer will always be the one essential I will always need. I moisture more in the winter than I do in the summer. I moisture every night before bed. I use the sorbelene moisturiser. I have a bottle in my room and as well one in my bathroom which I share with my sister.

3.Exfloiator:
Over the last year I have been exfoliating my skin with the St Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub once a week as part of my skin care routine and have notices a difference on my face. This has helped my skin  feel better than it ever felt since I change my skin care routine in the beginning of the year.

4.Concealer :
I will always need concealer as one of my all time essentials especially in winter because the bags under my eyes are just hard to conceal no matter what. I find it easy and simple to cover up spots on my skin to give my face a break from a wearing full face of make up and just let it breath. I have been using the Maybelline concealer as of recently.

5.Face Mask:
I have started to use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear face mask product because when I fee like my face has had a lot of make up on during the weekend I like to put the mask on to make my face feel fresh. I only do it once every few weeks.

Those are my winter beauty essentials, stay tune for part 2 of this blog post!

Let me know in the comments what essentials you have to get through the winter?

How to be adventurous

Hi all,
How's it going?

Over the last couple of  years I have become a adventurous person which I never expect to be. It started when a friend of mine asked me over snapchat to be her skydiving buddy. I said YES! Never would I thought I would be doing it so soon, it was on my bucket list but I was like stuff it lets do it!

Before skydiving  I did white water rafting in (with a hungover) and paragliding in Europe months before. Then this year my adventure buddy and I did the ROC race obstacle course (so much fun) and Miss Muddy. Miss Muddy was cold because we had carry tyres, climb over walls and slide down water slides. Then put it together  with mud, cold water and colour sprayed onto us. I had mud and sand everywhere and it took a week to get it out of my hair!  The atmosphere was awesome and empowering as it as a all women event. It was okay to fall over or need help because the other ladies would help you up. The best part about it was all the money was going to the McGrath foundation. They even gave you a medal after the race!

I have had so much fun doing these adventurous things and now I'm motivated to do more activities like these as they are really fun and give a adrenaline rush. I have diving with sharks on my list next with other things. I have come up with a few tips on how to be adventurous
whether it's big or small:

Do it with a friend!
Having a friend doing adventurous activities with you makes it easier to not be nervous and it's better to have company. If you have a friend that wants to do fun activities or ask around you never know what might happen. Once you got a friend, try to encourage others.

Research what you want to do:
Discuss and research adventurous activities, you don't have to do skydiving straight away you can look up the following in your local area:
  • Fitness events- fun runs or walks
  • Obstacle courses
  • Cooking or baking courses
  • Water sports
  • Art events.
My last tip:

My adventure buddy and I with our medals after Miss Muddy event.

What do you do to become adventurous? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear from you!

Why you need scrap paper!

Hi all,how's it going?

If you read my previous post about notebooks, then this post is related to that because it's about the paper from the notebooks. I have been grabbing random pieces of paper recently from a notebook or notepad and writing things down. These things include:

  • Blog ideas
  • Workout routines
  • Grocery list
  • To-Do list
  • Cooking/Baking recipes
I have been doing now for a couple of years were I find it handy when I'm at the gym or heading to the shops to grab a piece of paper to write down things to follow or buy otherwise I will easily forget. I also find helpful if I forget the paper is the note app on my phone, I use it more than any important app.

Having a piece of paper with me is good, if I get an idea for a blog post which I did as I am writing this post. What also makes it even better is that the notebooks I have, have got little pocket holders to put the scrap paper to keep safe and look over at another time. It's a genius idea who thought of that idea.

What do you use scrap paper for? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you!

My Red Lipstick Love/Obession

Hi guys, how it's going?

Over the last couple of years I have been loving and obsessed (my sister says) with red lipstick. I discovered it when I saw singer Taylor Swift start wearing it and I thought I'll give it a go and have never look back since.

I recently counted my lipstick collection, when my sister asked how many lipsticks I have. I counted six red lipsticks which is enough for the next couple of years. Eek. My first red lipstick I got was Rimmel London  Apocalips , then I followed on with:

  • MAC Red lipstick
  • Maybelline Colour Drama intense lip pencil ( I thought it was a lip liner but I found out it was a lipstick made into an lip pencil)
  • Maybelline colour sensational bold matte: Mat6 lipstick
  • Rimmel London Katie 10 lipstick
  • Revlon Ravish Me Red lipstick.
All of these lipsticks have similar colours and to be honest I don't mind either way. If I like it I buy it. I think you should either ignore or break beauty rules if their are any with lipsticks.

Myself with the MAC Red lipstick on my 21st.
I feel confident when I wear red lipstick, gives me boost of confidence when I go out! When I apply it, I become obsessed making sure it's in placed but now I'm trying to let it go by not checking it many times.

Hope you enjoy this blog post. Let me know in the comments which lipstick your obsessed with or enjoy wearing?
